Keep It Simple - The Veterinary profession can be made up of two kinds of people, those who simplify and those who complicate.. Our goal is to be the ones who can simplify.
Veterinarians attend school for a very long time, accrue a large amount of educational debt, and attain a large range of big medical words and acronyms, while learning an unimaginable amount of information pertaining to veterinary anatomy, physiology, parasitology, pharmacology, epidemiology, etc. etc. etc..... It's all fine and good for Doctors of Veterinary Medicine to use our veterinary jargon and lingo among other medical peers but we need to be mindful that communication outside of this realm is our responsibility.
The problems we are dealing with are never too difficult for a client to understand. We believe it is just a matter of communication skills. Every medical problem can be broken down to basics that can be explained to and understood by adults and children alike.
